What Are Kids’ Favorite Child Bible Stories?
When it comes to the Bible, there are many favorite child Bible stories. When you think about the stories you’ve learned over the years, you can probably pick out a handful of stories that you remember very well.
There are some general stories that most children love to hear over and over again. These child Bible stories teach wonderful lessons and because they’re popular with kids, they’re likely to be remembered.
Everyone loves the story of how God created the earth and everything in it. In fact, the Creation is something children learn about very early on. It makes sense that it’s shared so often because it’s the very beginning of the Bible – and most people make it at least that far!
But there are other valuable stories as well. The story of Noah and the Ark is a wonderful tale and children love the image of animals boarding the boat two by two. Animals are very popular with young children especially, so this story is one that makes a great impression.
Kids also enjoy the story of Moses who received the Ten Commandments and was able to use God’s power to part the Red Sea and lead his people to safety. The exciting images from these stories make them a kid favorite.
David and Goliath is another child Bible story that kids tend to enjoy. Just about every child knows what it feels to be the underdog. This is a great story of how strength of character is greater than physical strength.
Can you imagine being swallowed by a whale? It’s pretty interesting to think about. Perhaps that’s why children also enjoy the story of Jonah. Nothing could be more interesting that pondering life inside the belly of a huge sea creature. And it also teaches a great character lesson.
And finally, the story of the birth of Jesus is probably the best loved child Bible stories of all time. Little children love to imagine the birth of the baby Jesus. They can relate because it wasn’t that long ago that they were born to good parents.
And coupled with the story of the baby Jesus being born in a manger where the animals slept is the visit of the Three Kings bearing gifts for Him. And as Jesus grows, there are also stories of his life as young man and finally an adult who ministers to the poor and the sick.
Children can truly connect with child Bible stories. While these are some of the favorites for many children, you may find that your child has a different story that sticks out for him. Sharing many stories will help your child to find his own favorite.
