Rahab was a woman who lived in the city of Jericho. Jericho was the last city for God’s chosen people to take. The people of Jericho knew this and were very afraid.
One day, two men came to Rahab’s house. They were spies sent by Joshua’s army of Israelites. They were very afraid.
“Please help us,” they said. “The king’s men are looking for us. If you hide us, we will save you when God’s army invades!”
Rahab was a good woman. She always helped people who were in need. She did not know about God’s Word, but she was a good person.

In the early days, Christians were treated badly. The teachings of Jesus were not popular. Most people at that time did not know about the Word of God. Christians were persecuted. This means that they were treated terribly and punished for their beliefs.
There was a man named Saul. Saul was not a Christian. He had never met Jesus. In fact, he hated Christians. He threw stones at Christians and attacked the church.
One day Saul was on his way to Damascus. He was going to arrest some Christians who were preaching there.

Solomon - A Wise King
One of King David’s sons was named Solomon. David chose Solomon to be the new king of Israel when he was gone.
One day, God came to the new king Solomon and made him an offer. He said, “Solomon, I will give you whatever you want most in the world. So, what is it that you want? All the riches of the world? To live a long, happy life? Victory in battle?”
“I do not want all the riches in the world,” replied Solomon. “Nor do I want a long life. And I would not ask you for victory over my enemies.”
